Conditions
We Treat

You don’t need a diagnosis to reach out. Many people come to us because something feels off — emotionally, mentally, or in daily life. The descriptions below are meant to help you recognize patterns you may be experiencing and understand how support can help.

anxiety.png

Anxiety & Social Anxiety

If everyday situations feel overwhelming, stressful, or hard to manage — especially around people, responsibilities, or uncertainty — anxiety may be playing a role. Anxiety often builds gradually and can become part of daily life without being obvious at first.

Depression.png

Depression & Mood Disorders

If you feel emotionally drained, disconnected, or unlike yourself for an extended period of time, depression or a mood-related concern may be involved. These experiences often follow real-life stressors and don’t always look like sadness.

ADHD.png

ADHD & Attention Difficulties

Difficulty focusing, staying organized, or managing daily responsibilities is not a character flaw. Attention-related challenges affect both children and adults and are often misunderstood or overlooked.

anger.png

Anger Management Challenges

If anger feels intense, frequent, or difficult to control, it may be connected to stress, emotional overload, or unprocessed feelings rather than “anger issues” alone.

stress.png

Stress-Related Conditions

When stress becomes constant, it can affect emotional health, sleep, focus, and physical well-being.

eating.png

Eating-Related Concerns

If you feel emotionally drained, disconnected, or unlike yourself for an extended period of time, depression or a mood-related concern may be involved. These experiences often follow real-life stressors and don’t always look like sadness.

self harming.png

Self-Harming Behaviors

Some people use self-harm as a way to cope with overwhelming emotions or numbness. This is a sign that support is needed, not a personal failure.

substance.png

Substance Use & Relapse Concerns

Substance use often begins as a way to cope and can become difficult to control over time.

trauma.png

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma responses can develop after deeply distressing or life-altering events. These reactions are common and do not mean you are weak or unable to cope.

parenting.png

Parenting & Family Conflict

Family and parenting challenges are common and can create ongoing emotional strain if left unaddressed.

adolescent.png

Adolescent Behavioral Concerns

Adolescence is a time of emotional, social, and developmental change, and some teens need extra support.

Getting Started: What to Expect

  • You’ll begin with a brief phone call with our patient coordinator. During this call, we’ll answer your questions and check your insurance eligibility.

  • You’ll meet with one of our providers for a comprehensive evaluation. This visit includes a behavioral and mental health assessment to better understand your needs and create a personalized treatment plan.

  • Counseling & Therapy (40–45 minutes)
Depending on your treatment plan, care may include:
    • Individual therapy sessions
    • Group counseling services
    • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

For many patients, individual counseling is typically scheduled once a week for about four months. The exact frequency and duration may vary based on your treatment plan and progress.

    Medication Management (if needed)
Medication management is offered only when clinically appropriate and determined by your provider. Not all patients require medication.

    • Initial psychiatric evaluation
    • Medication management follow-up visits

We offer care for children, adolescents, adults, and families, with services tailored to different situations, conditions, and concerns.

  • Once symptoms have significantly improved and a patient is in remission, ongoing follow-up visits help maintain progress and prevent relapse.

    • Therapy patients may transition to less frequent sessions focused on reinforcement of coping skills, stress management, and early identification of returning symptoms
    • Medication management patients continue periodic follow-ups to monitor effectiveness, side effects, and determine whether medication adjustments or maintenance are needed
    • Appointments are individualized based on clinical needs, stability, and patient goals
    • Providers work collaboratively with patients to support long-term emotional wellness and functional stability

Follow-up care ensures that progress is sustained while allowing flexibility as needs change. Patients are encouraged to stay connected with their care team and reach out if symptoms return or new concerns arise

  • Medical Records & Documentation
Medical records, summaries, and other documentation are available upon request. Copies or printed records are provided based on the size of the request.

    Clinical & Administrative Letters
When clinically appropriate, we can provide:
    • School excuse letters
    • General office letters
    • Letters from your counselor
    • Letters from a prescribing provider (MD, APN, or PA)

Taking the first step toward mental and behavioral health care can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Jersey Behavioral Care provides counseling and psychiatric services for children, teens, adults, couples, and families, with both in-person and secure telehealth options.

You do not need to know exactly what service you need before reaching out. This form requests a phone consultation with our patient coordinator, who will guide you and help connect you with the right care.

In-office care is available at our Union, New Jersey location, including evaluations, counseling, group therapy, medication management, and Intensive Outpatient Program sessions.

In-person services

Secure online visits are available for evaluations, counseling, and medication follow-ups when clinically appropriate.

Telehealth services

Secure online visits are available for evaluations, counseling, and medication follow-ups when clinically appropriate.

Medication management

Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

For teens and adults who need more support than weekly counseling but do not require hospitalization, our IOP offers structured therapy multiple times per week while allowing you to continue daily responsibilities. Schedule and length depend on clinical needs and insurance.

Documentation Support & Easy Access to Medical Records

When clinically appropriate, Jersey Behavioral Care provides professional mental health documentation to support work, school, legal, and social service needs—without unnecessary delays.

Some clinics can take weeks—or even months—to release medical records, leaving you waiting and stressed. Our system makes requesting your information simple and efficient.
